The Real Ghostbusters: NOW Comics Series

The Real Ghostbusters was an American comic book series published by NOW Comics beginning in 1988. The series was based on The Real Ghostbusters animated television show and ran across two numbered volumes, a companion Spectacular 3-D Special, four annual specials, and a three-issue tie-in mini-series adapting the events of Ghostbusters II.

Series Overview

NOW Comics launched the series in 1988 to complement the animated show. The main run consists of 28 issues collected as Volume 1, followed by a second volume of four issues. Volume 2 was preceded by a numbered zero issue released as the Spectacular 3-D Special. The series also produced annuals across four consecutive years. In 1989, NOW Comics published a separate three-part mini-series, "The Real Ghostbusters Starring In Ghostbusters II," which bridged the animated continuity with the events of the Ghostbusters II film.
