Marvel Comics UK, The Real Ghostbusters #50 (May 27, 1989) |
Egon Spengler builds a ghost-catching robot named Ecto-X, programmed to assist the Ghostbusters in the field. Ecto-X proves so effective that it begins to outperform the team entirely. The situation turns dangerous when a Computergeist possesses Ecto-X and uses it to trap Peter Venkman, Ray Stantz, Winston Zeddemore, and Egon, then heads to the Firehouse to release the inmates of the Containment Unit. Slimer ultimately rescues the captured Ghostbusters and they neutralize the Computergeist. In the aftermath, Ecto-X is rebuilt with a new purpose: Ecto-Maid, who is tasked with keeping the team supplied with snacks.

A man named Reginald Asquith asks the Ghostbusters for help after his best clothes begin spontaneously changing into garish, tacky-colored garments. Egon takes the affected suit in for decontamination, only to find that Slimer, Janine, and the other Ghostbusters soon fall victim to the same color-changing phenomenon. The culprit is the Paisley Poltergeist. The story ends without explicitly showing how Egon resolves the problem.

When ruins bearing neanderthal cave art arrive in the city, ghostly prehistoric cavemen begin materializing and wrecking vehicles. Egon investigates and determines that the primitive phantoms are manifesting because their artifacts have been removed from their original resting place. Once the Ghostbusters understand the connection, they are able to stop the hauntings.
Cast: Egon Spengler, Peter Venkman, Ray Stantz, Winston Zeddemore, Janine Melnitz, Slimer, Professor Glebe, Neanderthal ghosts.

- The front cover is a reuse of the cover from Marvel Comics UK The Real Ghostbusters #50. That original cover was noted for its strong visual resemblance to the poster for the 1987 film RoboCop, sharing a similar pose of a figure stepping out of a vehicle.
