Overview
The issue is framed by Egon Spengler speaking from a dimension he calls the Ecto-Zone, in the role of narrator. He introduces four independent stories, each following a different Ghostbuster during their personal time, and promises the reader that their downtime can be just as strange as their work on the job.

Water Lilly
Ray Stantz revisits Toad Island, a location tied to a childhood memory of meeting a mermaid while he was lost. When he arrives he witnesses a group of punks harassing the mermaid and roughing up a man named Kenneth Grahame who tried to intervene. Ray diffuses the situation by calling out the bullies and sending them off.
Peter and the Wolf!
Peter Venkman goes on a date with Irena Cortez. The evening takes an unwanted turn when Irena transforms into her werewolf form at a particularly inopportune moment.
For Whom the Troll Tolls!
Egon Spengler, Janine Melnitz, and Shannon Phillips attend the Stromboli Circus at The Midway in Manhattan. There they encounter a troll who is performing as a sideshow attraction for circus owner Mr. Stromboli. The troll explains that he was formerly a minion of Samhain, the Spirit of Halloween, but was exiled from trolldom after betraying him. Egon helps the troll escape the circus.
A detail noted in dialogue: according to Egon, New York State Penal Code does not recognize the existence of trolls. Shannon also clarifies that trolls and their kin (referred to as Burrowers, also called Worms) do not live underground in the literal sense but in a magical realm that is only accessible from below. This realm is apparently distinct from, though possibly related to, "The World of Trolls" mentioned by the troll as his birthplace.
The timing of this story overlaps with "Peter and the Wolf!" Shannon tells Janine that Irena is currently out chasing Peter, placing the two stories as roughly concurrent events.
Off Night
Winston Zeddemore goes on a date to Cinema 7, where the theater is showing a film called "Nicole." Unknown to Winston, four gargoyles are intent on sabotaging his evening throughout the night. Slimer repeatedly thwarts the gargoyles before Winston notices anything is wrong. When Winston finally heads home, the gargoyles turn on Slimer, only for Winston to catch them himself.
