Early life
Levinson was born and raised in California. She studied film and television production before entering the entertainment industry by a circuitous route that moved through fashion marketing, real estate, and arts programming.
Career
Levinson began her professional career in marketing and product development at the fashion company Joie from 2003 to 2005, then at Fashion Glue until approximately 2008, before working as a commercial real estate consultant at Stafford Commercial Real Estate.
In November 2009, she joined the Soho House Group, where she worked in Marketing and Creative Programming, overseeing artistic programming across multiple international locations including New York, Los Angeles, London, Miami, Toronto, and Berlin. She held that role until 2013.
From 2013 to 2014, she served as Head of Alumni Relations at the Sundance Institute, where she developed strategic alumni relations programming, managed talent programming, and led the Sundance Advisory Board. In 2014 she served as president of REX, a mobile application for sharing and curating cultural recommendations.
She subsequently served as Chief Operating Officer at Annapurna Pictures, the independent production company founded by Megan Ellison. In April 2018 she joined Bron Studios as Chief Strategy Officer, responsible for fostering filmmaker and industry relationships and identifying key corporate opportunities across the Bron group of companies.1 That same spring she co-founded Little Lamb Productions alongside her husband, filmmaker Sam Levinson, and producer Kevin Turen.2
Her producing credits span independent drama, horror, and prestige television. At Bron, she was executive producer on Bombshell (2019), co-executive producer on Queen and Slim (2019, Universal Pictures), co-executive producer on The Green Knight (2021), and co-executive producer on Ghostbusters: Afterlife (2021). Through Little Lamb, she produced Pieces of a Woman (2020), starring Vanessa Kirby; Malcolm and Marie (2021), written and directed by Sam Levinson and starring Zendaya and John David Washington; Ti West's X (2022) and its prequel Pearl (2022); Breaking (2022); and MaXXXine (2024). She also served as executive producer on Those Who Wish Me Dead (2021) and Needle in a Timestack (2021).3
On the television side, she has served as executive producer on Euphoria (HBO), the acclaimed drama created by Sam Levinson, across multiple seasons. Additional television credits include the HBO miniseries Irma Vep (2022) and The Idol (2023).3
In 2021, Levinson and Zendaya received the Women in Film Crystal Award at the 2021 WIF Honors ceremony,45 recognized for the innovative shared equity structure used on Malcolm and Marie, in which the entire production crew received a 1% equity stake in the film,67 a rare arrangement that disrupted the traditional compensation hierarchy in Hollywood.
Bron Studios filed for bankruptcy protection in July 2023, citing the cumulative effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the WGA writers strike, and the SAG-AFTRA strike as factors that made continued operations unsustainable.8
Ghostbusters: Afterlife
Levinson served as co-executive producer on Ghostbusters: Afterlife (2021),3 directed by Jason Reitman and produced by Ivan Reitman.9 Her involvement came through Bron Creative, which co-financed the film alongside Columbia Pictures.9 The film was released on November 19, 2021,9 earning approximately $204 million worldwide10 against a production budget of $75 million.11 It marked a continuation of Bron's partnership with Jason Reitman, who had previously worked with the company on The Front Runner (2018).1
