Early life and education
Voliton grew up in Aurora, Colorado, and was a multi-sport athlete from an early age, playing football and baseball through high school at Overland High School.1 His turn toward acting began midway through his high school years after he was required to see a school production of Jekyll & Hyde.1 The experience revealed to him an affinity for character work and empathy in performance. During his senior year, a torn ACL suffered in a football game accelerated his commitment to pursuing acting professionally.1
He trained formally as an Acting major at the University of Northern Colorado, where he performed extensively on stage while also booking commercial and on-screen work.3 He earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting in May 2018.3 While at UNCO he appeared in stage productions including A Raisin in the Sun, First Date, and The Crucible, and gained his first screen credit as a featured extra on a Netflix production.3 He is a SAG-AFTRA member and holds Equity Membership Candidate (EMC) status with Actors' Equity Association.3
Career
After graduating, Voliton built a working career in both television and regional theater. On stage he made his debut with the Colorado Shakespeare Festival, appearing as a Musketeer, Spanish Officer, and Cadet in Cyrano de Bergerac, and played Longaville in Love's Labour's Lost.4 Other stage credits include Night Watch with Spotlight Theatre Company and productions at the Aurora Fox.3
In television, he appeared as Deshawn in an episode of Better Call Saul (AMC, 2020)3 and had a recurring role in the Netflix post-apocalyptic series Daybreak.3 He appeared as Jedthrow Brown in the Reservation Dogs (FX) Season 2 episode "Stay Gold Cheesy Boy," a critically acclaimed comedy series focused on Indigenous youth in Oklahoma.5 Additional TV credits include Roswell, New Mexico (The CW).3
His film credits include supporting roles in Surrounded (2023), Every Single Someone (2021),2 the documentary-hybrid The Social Dilemma (2020), and The Jurassic Dead (2017).3 He has also completed principal commercial engagements at the national, regional, and local levels.3 He is represented by multiple agencies across California, Colorado, Georgia, and New Mexico.6
