Early life

Murray is a Florida native.3 His personal website describes him as drawing comedy material from "anecdotes, jokes, and witty observations" centered on family, friends, and personal experiences.3 Early in his career he appeared on television as a guest on FOX's Good Morning Orlando and The Daily Buzz morning talk show, and on Disney Channel's Game On3, suggesting his public profile developed through regional comedy and broadcast work before he transitioned into a fuller film and television career.

Career

Murray works across both stand-up comedy and screen acting. On the comedy side he tours clubs nationally and produces video content for his YouTube channel under the handle AdamMurrayLive.3

His screen credits span several years and genres. He had an early visual effects and character design credit on the animated series BoJack Horseman (2014).4 His acting credits include The Gifted (2018, Fox/FX), Ron Howard's Hillbilly Elegy (Netflix, 2020, as a Salesperson),1 and a cluster of notable projects across 2022: Stranger Things Season 4 (Netflix, two episodes), She-Hulk: Attorney at Law (Disney+, one episode), Cobra Kai (Netflix, one episode), First Wives Club (BET+), and the theatrical feature Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile (2022, Sony, as Lowlife). Also in 2022 he appeared in Novel Love (as Bennie).1

In 2023 his film work included The Family Plan (Apple TV+, as Motel Receptionist), Zoey 102 (Paramount+, as Delivery Person), and Drunk, Driving, and 17 (as Phil Cartmel).1

More recently he appeared in a run of prominent television productions in 2025: 9-1-1: Nashville (ABC, two episodes as Beau), Law & Order: SVU (NBC, one episode as Daniel Boyd), and Mayor of Kingstown (Paramount+, two episodes as Andy Nelson).1

Murray also appeared in Hellthy Junkfood YouTube videos; the channel has accumulated millions of views on individual videos, giving him additional digital audience exposure.5

Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire

Murray portrayed the Truck Driver in the post-credits sequence of Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire (2024). The scene was filmed at a truck stop in Newnan, Georgia.2

Murray originally auditioned in November 2023 for the role of the Vape Shop Clerk.2 That role required a body scan to support a visual effects element, which gave Murray pause: the audition came shortly after the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes concluded, and he was wary of the implications of a performer likeness scan at that moment in the industry.2 He was ultimately cast as the Truck Driver instead. On December 4, 2023, he attended a costume fitting at Trilith Studios in Georgia.2

During production of the credits tag, the crew flagged Murray's transition lenses as a potential problem for the shoot, but Murray pointed out they would not be visible during the planned night shoot.2 Takes kept escalating as the crew extended the distance he had to run while chasing the truck. The set was intended to be closed, but customers at a nearby McDonald's documented the shoot on their phones, and an Uber driver accidentally drove onto the set, nearly striking both Murray and the truck.2
