Plot

The Ghostbusters arrive to find a cult using a young boy to summon a powerful demon called Astorath. They manage to save the boy before Astorath can fully manifest; the demon then turns on the cult itself, destroying it before vanishing. In the aftermath, the Ghostbusters learn the boy's name is Shannon Phillips, and that the cult was composed of his own family.

The situation grows more dangerous when a man named Nathanial Blaque arrives with the intent to abduct Shannon. The attempt triggers a latent power within Shannon, who displays abilities far beyond anything the Ghostbusters have previously encountered. Blaque escalates in response, unleashing a spell of global scale that transforms nearly everyone on Earth into demons. When the issue ends, the only people left unchanged are Shannon Phillips and the Ghostbusters themselves.
