Ghostbusters: Legion #3

Ghostbusters: Legion #3 is the third issue of the Ghostbusters: Legion four-issue mini-series published by 88MPH Studios. It was released on November 10, 2004, though its intended release date was April 2004. Written by Andrew Dabb with pencils by Steve Kurth, the issue deepens the series' central mystery as the Ghostbusters struggle to connect a wave of ghost attacks across New York City to escaped mental patient Michael Draverhaven, a figure tied to the team's past.

Plot

A string of mysterious ghost attacks is spreading the Ghostbusters thin across the city. Egon Spengler begins to suspect the incidents are connected rather than coincidental, sensing something more deliberate behind the pattern. At the same time, the team is dealing with personal pressures: Dana Barrett and Peter Venkman's relationship is strained, and Ray Stantz remains withdrawn. Meanwhile, Michael Draverhaven, an escaped patient from the Albany Psychological Corrections Facility with a documented connection to the Ghostbusters' history, is moving freely. The issue ends with the revelation that Draverhaven has secured an unlikely ally in Slimer.

On page 2, Michael Draverhaven reveals he formerly lived in Cleveland, Ohio near Hopkins International Airport.
On page 2, Michael reveals that he gave Egon a copy of Tobin's Spirit Guide.
On page 4, Peter references both Madonna and a person named Cher Huggins.
On page 13, a large patient at the corrections facility mistakes Winston for Santa Claus.
On page 14, the same patient asks Winston for a Tokamak Fusion Generator.
On page 17, Egon is shown eating a Sno Ball snack cake rather than his characteristic Twinkie.
On page 17, the phrase "per se" is misspelled in the lettering.
The taxi cab Ray uses carries three different identifying numbers across its roof sign, trunk lid, and license plate, an error. The source notes that this inconsistency is characteristic of New Jersey taxi cabs, not New York ones.
On page 20, one of Draverhaven's assembled allies is revealed to be Slimer.
The issue was heavily affected by 88MPH Studios' ongoing distribution problems. Although its official release date was November 10, 2004, a number of shops did not receive copies until December 1, 2004. The intended street date for this issue had been April 2004, making the actual release roughly seven months late.
