Career
Brandt began his screen career in 1965. He established himself as a reliable television character actor during the late 1960s and 1970s, appearing in family-oriented sitcoms such as My Three Sons and earning early notice for a recurring role as an ambitious corporal on Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C. He went on to guest roles in major dramatic series including Star Trek: The Original Series, Mission: Impossible, and T.J. Hooker.12
His film work includes Battle of the Bulge (1965), I Wanna Hold Your Hand (1978), Neon Maniacs (1986), Sliver (1993), and The Cat in the Hat (2003). He appeared as a stern bailiff in Clint Eastwood's Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil (1997).12
Brandt moved substantially into voice acting during the 1990s, a phase of his career that would produce some of his most recognized work. He voiced Professor Emil Hamilton across 14 episodes of Superman: The Animated Series (1996-2000), a supporting scientist character who recurred throughout the series. He voiced Master Pakku in six episodes of Avatar: The Last Airbender (2005-2008), Rupert Thorne in The Batman animated series, and General Crozier across 59 episodes of Metalocalypse (2006-2013). He also contributed voice performances to animated features including Babe: Pig in the City and the English-language dub of the Japanese film Mirai. In video games, he has voiced characters in Superman 64, Jade Empire, and StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm.12
Ghostbusters
Brandt served as a guest voice actor on Extreme Ghostbusters in the episode "The Luck of the Irish" (Season 1, Episode 21, first aired November 3, 1997). The episode centers on an evil Leprechaun accidentally freed from a mystic circle and targeting the descendants of the Irish society members who imprisoned him. Brandt appeared alongside fellow guest voice actors Mary Jo Catlett, Sherman Howard, and Martin Jarvis.3
