GBFans.com Has Been Rebuilt From the Ground Up

After 26 years, GBFans.com is running on an entirely new foundation. Today we're flipping the switch on a complete rebuild of the site, top to bottom. The old site was held together by code going back over two decades. It worked, but every new feature meant fighting a system that wasn't built for 2026, so we made the call to rebuild GBFans.com from scratch instead of continuing to patch the old stack.
The forum has moved to new software, carrying over our nearly 50,000 members and every thread along with them, now running on something that won't fall over under its own weight. The shop got a full overhaul too, same props, pins, and coins you know, just running on a platform built for the long haul instead of a system from the early 2000s. The wiki got reorganized as well, over 3,400 pages of community knowledge cleaned up and restructured so it's actually navigable.
Some of your favorite features are back too: fan profiles, friends, events, maps, and more. Fan prop uploads are back. Fan art is back. And franchises are back: create your own local Ghostbusters fan group or join one that already exists. Each franchise gets its own space to post news, track charity fundraising totals, run local events, and build out its own corner of the community. The gallery is back too, and we held onto as many photos as we could going back to the year 2000. It's sitting at over 100,000 photos and counting.
Supporting memberships have always been part of GBFans.com, but now you can support monthly instead of just yearly, and the first month is free. Silver and Gold memberships also come with shop discounts now, on top of going ad-free and getting recognized in the community.
None of this happened overnight. This rebuild took about 4 months, averaging around 5 hours a day, with plenty of days running 14 to 15 hours to get things across the finish line. All told, getting GBFans.com rebuilt and running on new infrastructure cost around $25,000 between hosting, tooling, and the work of migrating two and a half decades of community history without losing any of it.
If GBFans.com has been useful to you over the years, whether for a build, a prop, or just a place to talk about Ghostbusters with people who get it, consider grabbing a supporting membership. It directly funds keeping the site running and growing.

This is a from-scratch rebuild, so things may not be perfect everywhere yet. If you spot something broken, there's a report button in the bottom left corner of the site. Click it, tell us what happened, and we'll get it sorted.
Thanks for sticking with us for 26 years. Here's to the next chapter.
