Ectomobile

Here is my Ertl Ecto 1A Model. As you can see it has been adapted slightly to make it as screen accurate as possible. I added the yellow radar dome to the roof rack. I also added the diagonal bars at the rear of the roof rack. I made my own labels for the roof equipment both by using reference shots from GBprops & freeze framing the movie. I also created accurate licence plates so the Statue Of Liberty was between "Ecto" & "1A" and added "Commercial" below, I then made them more realistic by adding styrene backing. I created new hazard marking for above the doors on either side and at the back. The decals with the kit were all yellow and black but on the actual Ecto they were orange & black above the doors and yellow and black below. I also added wires & pipes to the roof equipment. Finally I created my own decals to make the lightboards on either side more authentic and screen accurate. Overall I'm pretty pleased with the outcome considering my inexperience at modelling!!
