I was just a kid when I fell in love with the animated series, "The Real Ghostbusters". This lead me to then watch the movie and I fell in love with that too. My best friend at the time and I were complete Ghostbuster freaks. She loved Venkman, I loved Spengler (and I still do!). While the other chicks in my class were all freaking out over the New Kids on the Block and other assorted pop bands, I was swooning over Egon Spengler. It actually encouraged me to do well in science class, and I did very well! I was 13 when I made my first proton pack. I modeled it after the one in the animated series. I would carefully watch every episode I could and quickly sketch out what I saw on TV for my reference. We had no VCR at the time so I could not record or freeze frame for reference. My pack was made out of corrugated cardboard, wood blocks, duct tape and assorted goodies I found in the trash. I wore it proudly on Halloween with a grey jumpsuit complete with a hand drawn "Ghostbusters" logo on my shoulder. I'm married to a great guy who tolerates my love for the Ghostbusters and I have 2 beautiful children.
