Ectomobile

My friend Eric and I started a project back in 2005 to build an Ecto. We began with a 1960 M&M 3-way hearse. ( "3-way" refers to the 3-direction electric table in the back. ) We had an apartment where welding isn't tolerated so we found a house with an RV pad to rent, used that for a couple of years and eventually didn't get as far as we hoped. After 4 years of picking away at it we ran out of time and the landlord lost the house to the bank.
Just when we were about to give up hope, V71's old Superior became available. We met his price and CRAMMED a boatload of work into 90 days that I do not want to relive ever again. The end result is a different car, but a '59 and definitely an Ecto. To those who think we simply bought someone else's Ecto and slapped our name on it, I'm posting progress pics here so that you can understand we really took it down to nothing and started all the way back up to an Ecto again, welding our own roof rack and making our own interior floors along the way. Total cost? More than $5.00. Will we sell it? F*** no. Do we give rides? Get real. Rent out for parties? Not even close. Charity events or just driving around on our own, that's about it. Some of these pics were pics taken by others. Some I found online, some were e-mailed to me, and all were saved to my hard drive. I really don't remember who took them or where. I want to give credit to the fine photographers who were kind enough to take these and if anyone recognizes it as theirs and wants it removed, please let me know and I'll do it immediately.
