Have you always wondered what on Earth the piece of equipment was that Roland was leaning on in the promotional pictures and the opening credits of Extreme Ghostbusters? I originally believed it was a recreation of the Slime Blower, but I now know it is called a "Ghost Containment Unit" according top the Deluxe Roland action figure that features the weapon in question. Personally I prefer calling it either a "Trap Pack" or an "Ecto Containment Pack." It was featured in a single episode (Sonic Youth) and was used by Janine in an attempt to capture an escaped donkey ghost. The weapon failed to work, but it was quite neat nonetheless. This is an active project that is in the process of being built. The primary base of the Cyclotron is a 9 inch mixing bowl from Wal-mart with a cake pan from Target on top. A very similar construction method to my proton pack. The Cyclotron features 3 yellow reflector lenses which were also purchased from Lowes and can be located on the nuts and bolts aisle near the "For Sale" signs, mailboxes, and outdoor letters/numbers for homes. Three washers are used to highlight and detail the lights, just like on the Proton Pack. Rather than going with 4 lights like the Proton Pack in the movies, I went with the 3-light design featured on the RGB Proton Packs and that is implied on the Ecto Containment Pack toy. The Ion Knob is simply silver sauder tightly twined around a 1.25 inch wood dowel with a washer on top held in place by a screw (all can be found at Home Depot or Lowes). The Bumper was purchased from Multimediamayhem and is made from resin. These are sold for Proton Packs, but I simply repurposed it for this project. To add a little more "razzel dazzel", I want to add two of these automotive LED Light Bars. They are made by Pilot Automotive and are located in the Automotive Department at Wal-Mart. They are designed to run off of a car battery via a parking light or tail light electrical output on your car, but I went to Radio Shack and wired it to a switchable 8 AAA battery source. This gives me the needed 12 volts to power the LEDs (1.5v x 8 = 12v). My current plan is to place the red and blue LED bars on either side of the primary tank with the small black exhaust vent located near the bottom in between (the round thing below the "Danger Radioactive" label). The entire pack will be painted a military olive drab green with certain parts painted black.
