My ancient Proton Pack. Dubbed "Ole '98" at one point, it now bears bumper art calling it "the Spare." Fellow 'busters have been welcome to wear it at events -- but not always eager to, since this thing weighs in around 45 pounds. I actually constructed this thing back in 1998 using VHS video stills. It's comprised wood, metal, PVC and whatever parts I could find to scratch-fab my own nuclear accelerator. It's a bit crude, but the Halloween crowds love it. I retrofitted it with a 12 volt automobile electrical system. That permitted me to install powerfully bright LED lights which look brilliant. It also makes the back weigh a ton. Methinks it's time to look at the fantastic world of fiberglass for my next pack.
