Does this really need to be a law?

Personally, I don't mind previews and Movie News before the film. While it would be nice if some theatres posted when the movie starts exactly, I can do without the feeling of having to rush to the concessions stand or make that restroom visit before you sit down to watch the movie.

Does this really need to be made law, or should theatres change policy on their own accord? What are people's thoughts on this?

Movie theaters should have the freedom to set their own policies based on their business model. Many theaters rely on previews to generate revenue.

I don't mind the movie previews before the actual movie begins- but... I am not a fan of unnecessary local commercials that are also included during the previews. (Pool cleaning services, condo rentals, car dealerships, etc...)

For this reason, I always arrive at the cinema 10 minutes late
