We're saddened to report the passing of writer Michael Reaves, who worked on The Real Ghostbusters from 1986 until 1990, penning the following episodes for the show:

The Boogieman Cometh, Play Them Ragtime Boos (with Steve Perry), The Collect Call of Cathulhu, Janine Melnitz, Ghostbuster, Ghost Busted, Janine's Day Off (with Steve Perry), Egon's Ghost, Captain Steel Saves the Day (with Steve Perry), Victor the Happy Ghost, Transylvanian Homesick Blues, The Two Faces of Slimer, The Bogeyman Is Back, Loathe Thy Neighbor, The Copycat, Camping it Up and Deja Boo.

Beyond Ghostbusters, Reaves also wrote for He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, Dungeons & Dragons, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Batman: The Animated Series, Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends and Gargoyles (and many more).

Reaves had been living with Parkinson's since the 1990s, and he detailed his personal experiences on his personal blog until 2013. He is survived by his daughter Mallory Reaves, and wife Brynne Chandler, both of whom shared his passion for writing.

Safe journey, Michael. Your Real Ghostbusters episodes were among the very best.

Damn. Always loved this guy's work--I always looked forward to his name in the RGB credits more than anyone but JMS himself. He was still able to put out some good work even after the dumbasses ABC hired "improved" the show.

My condolences to his family and friends.

Very sorry to hear this, Michael Reaves wrote many of my favorite episodes of The Real Ghostbusters. Also, I really enjoyed his stories that he penned for both Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Batman: The Animated Series. Never knew that both his wife and daughter are also writers like he was. RIP Michael Reaves and thank you for all the amazing stories you wrote for the various cartoons I continue to enjoy watching today.
