62 Miller Meteor ad from Craigslist Portland.

I emailed him shortly after the ad went up, asking for pictures. I finally got them yesterday evening, as well as additional details on how the sale would be processed. Seller is in the military, getting ready to be deployed and emergency sale. He'll pay to ship and process the payment through eBay for security.

Needless to say, it's a scam. I emailed him back the link to eBay motors that explicitly maps out the scenario as a scam, and have flagged the ad to Craigslist.

If you were going to scam someone, wouldn't you pick a more common vehicle?
I'm extremely confident it's a scam. His description of the process was pretty much verbatim from eBay's scam alerts; member of the military, looking to sell something extremely fast before being deployed. Item is on base and prepped for shipment (after their deployment), so it is unavailable to personally inspect. eBay would be used as a clearing house for payment, for protection of the buyer and seller.

I have a friend in Portland that was willing to go look at it, which of course never happened.

I have photos below, that the "seller" sent me by email, side-by-side with photos of a hearse at ClassicDreamCars.com (link). The description on their site notes it as from Missouri, the craigslist post has Missouri plates despite being for sale in Oregon. The Craigslist ad lists it as a Miller Meteor versus a Superior on the other site, but the exterior and interior look the same.

I'd guess the craigslist photos came from before it got to Classic Dream Cars, but who knows. Either way, they're very similar. I'm sure there were a handful of identical ones put out the same year, but the chances that both look so close, in such good condition, I don't believe. Plus, I don't care if the story 100% checks out, there's no way this car is worth the $3,000 price on Craigslist, then the lowered emergency sale price of $2,000 they emailed me with to my inquiry if the hearse was still available.

Spotted this a few days ago. I believe it is a 1972 Cadillac M-M Volunteer. Looks to be in good shape, not sure about the price tag on it though. It's the first Cadillac ambulance I've seen on sale in Spain, was really excited when I saw it!

Yea its a shame it just sat in a field for 18 years.

I feel like if this was a car the seller planned to restore at some point why not keep it somewhere the condition of the vehicle and thus the difficulty of the restoration wouldn't get worse???

I mean essentially every day it sat in that field was about another 5 dollars added to the restoration cost.

She needs some work, but would make a fine Ecto.

Found a 1978 Cadillac Fleetwood hearse for sale within Saskatchewan on kijiji while searching for a possible Ecto-1 car project to start myself. This would be the ideal 2016 Ecto-1 with some new paint and body work. I am aware that the 2016 film uses a 1980s Cadillac, but this '78 is nearly identical.
