I put up a question on the Facebook page asking about advice on washing my suit (bought off the GBfans store), but nobody responded to anything with regards to dry cleaning. I tried looking up any threads on this but there doesn't seem to be a clear cut answer, though I do know you're, apparently, not supposed to dry clean a Nomex suit because it'll go up in flames. But yeah, can I dry clean my Tru-Spec suit safely? It's got a no-ghost and name patch sewn on, along with a rubber hose connector, would those be an issue? Do I need to give the dry cleaner any special instructions, assuming it's safe to do so?

Would really appreciate some insight on this. I don't exactly *mind* machine or hand washing it, but I'm terrified of doing something wrong and dry cleaning feels like a safer option, if it's at all possible. :P

You should be fine dry cleaning the suit. They will read the care instructions on the garment itself as well.

If you're ever upgrading beyond the Tru-Spec, I'd avoid buying a Nomex. They suits in the movie weren't Nomex, but a cotton ripstop. Nomex fabric is very hot and does not breathe well, and there are some really solid options that are more screen accurate these days, like Magnoli's suits.

Machine wash warm, and tumble dry low heat or air dry. You can also put on a hangar and let it dry naturally.
I wash my suit alot, and it's fine after a few years.

Thank you! Also, no plans on upgrading, I really like the Tru-Spec because it's both light to wear and tough against any potential damage. Would be interested in getting it in other, non-standard issue colours though.
