Hey all!

I just started my first build ever, and I of course picked to do a proton pack first. Not only did I pick a proton pack first, I also chose to do an all aluminum build as well for my first build! Haha

I recently acquired a shell CNC’d out of a solid block of aluminum, so that gave me the excitement to go all out!

I am obviously using my aluminum shell, with a Mack’s aluminum wand, GPStar electronics kit, and I’ll be adding a GPStar aluminum attenuator. I also will be wiring in vent kit (hopefully in the n-filter as well as in the wand if I can figure the want part out), a shaker motor in the wand, and will be wiring the loom to aviation quick disconnects so that the loom can detach from both the wand and pack.

Here are a few pics of my progress so far. I am currently still waiting on parts, so as I get the , I’ll be installing and taking some pics to post.

Please give me all your feedback and advice, I will need it for my first build since I am honestly running at this blindly and playing this all off the hip!

Very nice. My back is weeping for yours in solidarity.

Are you going to be rounding off some of the pack edges etc, or keeping it as it is?

If you want to use a vent kit you will very likely need to cut out the portion of the shell where the N-filter sits to be able to fit it in.

That's nuts! Crazy to think it's CNC'd, whatever machine it is...it must be a beast. Going to be an awesome build.

Hey guys,

So first off, thank you so much!!! I’m glad no one harassed me about the shell not being 100% accurate (a few people on Facebook have been shitting on my proton pack), lol.

Honestly, I do not plan on doing any fixing of the shell. I just plan on leaving it as is for the build. I am a bit too nervous with this being my first build, and with this shell costing as much as it did, that I might wind up doing more damage than good. That being said, I will be doing another all aluminum build in the near future, and will be having this one 3D printed, so it will be 100% screen accurate!

As for the vent kit, yes, I am definitely going to be cutting a hole out for a vent kit in the N-Filter!!! I only just started to learn how to weld and work with metal, so I was saving that for last. I also will be trying to put a vent kit into the wand as well!!

Also, this shell is not as heavy as most would think. In all honesty, fiberglass/resin shell might even be a little heavier!! I will definitely give a totally weight once it’s fully built!

I apologize if this project takes a while to complete, as I am waiting for parts to be delivered. So basically I am building as the parts arrive.

I will definitely be uploading updated pictures as soon as I get the rest of the pack parts attached and it is ready for paint!

Once again, I really appreciate the positive support of my first GB build ever!
