I'm looking to see if anyone is having problems with their Hasbro 1984 neutronawand mode switch button not working and I was wondering how to fix it. I don't think a wire is working but it's not doing anything

you'll have to open up the wand to see. a wire probably came loose and needs to be resoldered

I've actually checked that and nothings unsoldered. I need to mess around some more with it but it's getting overwhelming cause idk where to start with it. The wire for the mode switch is attached to a JST connector and nothing's loose as far as that goes.

If you have a multimeter, I'd start by testing the cable/switch; disconnect the JST from the wand board, set your meter to ohms (or continuity mode) and carefully touch the probes against the tiny slivers of metal on the side of the JST. Press the mode switch and see if the meter reading changes. (Depending how fine your probes are they may not make contact so you might need to improvise something).

Update. While checking it with the probes I barely touched it and one of the pins for the JST snapped also a wire came off of the jst crimp... Those could have been the problem all along. Do you have any idea on how to replace the pins attached to the bored or am I screwed

Can you send a picture?
The JST socket surround can pull away from the board when disconnecting the plug, is usually easy enough to slip back over the pins. If a pin has come off the board it might be possible to re-solder it.

Just in case I didn't explain it very well, I meant the probes should touch the exposed pins in the connector, not the board

The JST connectors in the wand are JST-PH 2.0. You can absolutely find replacement sockets and solder them in. Can also get replacement wires and crimp them if the one going to the button breaks. Best of luck!
