Mattys goggles make a nice display piece but they weren't exactly built for comfort. I'd like to see Hasbro take that into account. My other question would be will,Haslab make the goggles universally compatable with generic camera film rather then a type of film that may or may not be produced anymore? Being an exact replica would be nice but hasbro providing a single roll of film you cant buy would kind of suck. It would make the afterlife goggles moot.

Mercifull wrote: May 17th, 2025, 10:12 am There’s gotta be at least 4 variants of Goggles. Each film has its own version and it wouldn’t surprise me if gb1 and 2 have more than one type even within them with subtle differences. If Hasbro did a goggles HasLabs which would they go for? You can’t even really convert one to the other particularly easily.
Nah,... if we look at just the trap there's gotta be multiple variants of it PER MOVIE. GB1 has the long slimer trap, the stunt, GB2 has the repurposed GB1 with bigger yellow led and raised bargraph and different battery box top plate and switch and light position and different screw layout, the short body Jewelery scene semi hero (that was used as the Matty and Haslab base), AF has the same short body (but with GB1 details) and the RTV, changed the pedal completely, FE changed the pedal even further. Yet Haslab was able to just make a brilliantly accurate ghost trap.

The Ecto goggles are just a AN/PVS-5a NVG with various different doodads per movie (apart from the polaroid unit and drone unit). The GB1/GB2 buttons would be an easy pack in. The only question remaining is the M944A polaroid unit plug in box which looks like it plugs in cleany on the top left side. It would be an easy tier upgrade.

Gb1 goggles and Frozen Empire ones are quite similar. It’s just an antenna, a few wires and the db-15 connector underneath. Oh and the led/sensor/lens in the middle of the face plate. But that’s it. Gb2 has loads of greeblies all over it. Afterlife is probably the most different of the lot because of the Polaroid.

In terms of Haslab...the thing i want the most is a Firehouse for the Ecto 1's coming out. Id also love a retro firehouse re issue. Basically i just want a firehouse at this point. How hard could it be for them to put that out?

Prop replicas? I could go for a Ecto-Goggles and id love a ghost sniffer or giga meeter...something like that you could do as another two in the box set.

A drone or RTV Ghost trap could be cool but not right after we just got the basic trap last year.

As for figures...id like to see the ones with the water changing color from the real ghostbusters make a return. I forget the name of those...but they had a louis tully figure with that set too id like to have again.

Also...cant we get a Shock the nerd board game set or a dancing toaster? Common hasbro..today you could make a dancing toaster with a built in blue tooth speaker and i promise you those would sell like crazy. Imagine brining over a dancing toaster to a friends house that actually plays the music and dances to it while it plays it...thats just fun for the whole family!

I suppose it depends on if you just want a diorama of the ground floor apparatus bay, or the whole thing from top to bottom. :)

That was the "Slimed Heroes" range.

I'd love a compact thrower but I think they'll be finishing off Afterlife before tackling Empire. But yes, it would be more manageable then lugging everyone's favorite proton pack around!

With the current Haslab GB momentum and numbers on how the Ecto compared to the Two in the Box, it would really make financial sense for Hasbro to do the Goggles. Just from a business strategy standpoint, it makes the most sense.

It also compares to the Matty lineup:

Matty Collector

2010- Matty Collector PKE ($70 in 2010 is $103 in 2025)
2011- Matty Collector Ghost Trap ($130 in 2011 is $185 in 2025)
2013- Matty Collector Ecto Goggles ($110 in 2013 is $150 in 2025)
2014- Matty Collector Neutrino wand ($130 in 2014 is $175 in 2025)

Hasbro Haslab

2020- Haslab Spengler’s Neutrona Wand ($130)
2023- Haslab Spengler's Proton Pack ($400)
2024- Haslab 1984 Neutrona wand ($130)
2025- Haslab Two in the Box: Ghost Trap and PKE ($300)

I preordered that pack. Saw the email my jaw actually dropped, lol. I believe I heard on the YHS Toy Anxiety video they put on YouTube that it does not have the rumble part of the Afterlife pack.

When's the cut off date? This is a hard decision, do I want a new Savi's lightsaber, or do I really need a second Proton Pack? The very nice thing about this pack is you can mount it. That's going to be one hell of a clock mod. Damn, I got to get those crocs as well.

Wonder why they're going so hard on the Ecto Glows. Like, yeah, they're the most valuable set from the line, putting them back out will sell (especially as a con exclusive), and making that copter that never got made is really cool, but doing some quick and easy variants to go alongside them? And not a Janine?

The pack looks great and I think it is different enough from the Haslab to warrant it's own release.

It's cheaper at $299. They did remove the rumble feature and they removed "Afterlife mode" so it just has the '84 sounds and lights. They added a USB-C power options to keep the lights on when displayed. I'm sure you can also use a power brick for walking around. I hope it still comes with the alice frame hardware, but I don't see any mention of it so that might still be Haslab exclusive as well.

Well, it absolutely has the mounting points for said hardware, so if it doesn't come with it, someone will make a kit for it.
Joeyvenkman wrote: June 7th, 2025, 5:03 pm Do y'all think this'll weigh about the same as the previous haslab pack?
It's essentially the same pack, so any weight changes would be near undetectable.

The ecto glow stuff is cool and all but i hate when they make it super exclusive. Not everyone can travel to Comic Con and not everyone can grab the leftovers online instantly. I get its a limited run and all that, but i just find that stuff way more frustrating then fun to try to get.

The Haslab stuff i dont mind but to be honest im not a fan of it either. You got to budget 18 months out when they announce it, you only got a limited window to back it, and then you got to wait a year to get it.

I get its the modern way things are done nowadays and everyone pre orders everything...but i miss the 80s and 90s when the stuff just came out, you saw it in store, likely for the first time, and bought it right there and then. Thats how it was done when i was a kid and half the time unless they showed other figures in the back of a card or a catalog that used to come with some of the playsets, or at a friends house or something, you never even knew this stuff existed.

I diden't know about the ecto glow stuff as a kid and only learned of it on the internet decades later and while cool, i never felt i missed out on those figures (cant miss something you never knew existed in the first place)

Sorry to go off on a old man rant, but i miss the sense of discovery we had with this stuff as a kid. Now adays, we are told about it almost a year or so in advance and then i get anxiety about missing out on it because of limited quanities or timed exclusives or having to budget months in advanced to even make sure i can afford it in the first place...the whole collecting thing while fun, seems more frustrating then fun to me ya know.

Am i the only one that feels that way somedays?

Totally get your frustration with limited supplies of stuff. Seems like almost everything these days is a limited edition collab or exclusive to xyz. It’s a scalpers dream but I guess it’s one of the only things keeping brick & mortar stores relevant.

I share those sentiments in disliking con exclusives when it's part of a toy line. I get that you want to make something special for the convention, but make it something like a funky accessory not everyone would care too much about not owning. Not like a missing piece for the collection/line. It's like "what, you're not offering to it everyone and you're going to produce a number that doesn't meet the demand? You guys don't like money?"

The one thing that I can't stand even more is when influencers get this stuff way before hand and for free and then try and hype it up. Then I am the adult manbaby that can't get one and has to pay 5x's the price on eBay or that creepy backalley dude with the Turbo Man. "Psst. You looking for Turbo Man?"

Oh its worse. I just found out Mondo delayed Peter Venkman until August...yet managed to send out sets to Youtubers to do videos on...BUT NOT PAYING COUSTMERS..... I used to have a youtube channel a year ago...not a big one, and gave it up for mental health reasons, but i wonder...would i have gotten the set i paid for if i promised to promote it or would mine still be delayed too...

The advance-review figures were likely a small sample of the completed products that were sent to Mondo by the factory in China that was making them.
It wouldn't surprise me if the rest of the ordered production run was still in China, waiting to be sent to the United States... And not sat gathering dust in one of Mondo's warehouses in America.

The paying customers will get the items they paid for.

Yeah, I'd have to agree that these Haslab "surprises" don't leave much room for us to be prepared for a pricy pre-order. I want the 84 pack, but it's not in the budget at the moment, and I'm not paying a scalper $500+ for one next year.
