Anyone know if were getting an additional Haslab over this one, or should we expect another reveal tease like last year? I almost forgot about the Ecto.

No, no indication of if there is or when the next HasLab is. Take note, Ectomobile was first teased GB Day 2024 and before that Two in Box in October 2023. So expect the next HasLab tease to probably be on either of the two as well.

Anyone want to start taking bets? What's left to do, and what are most likely going to get?

Giga Meter
Slime Blower
Drone /remote control trap
Goggles / with or without camera
Impact thrower?
Ful scale Firehouse?

I didn't list RGB Ecto because I doubt we'll be getting another car so soon.

Emily Bader already said they will never do a Slime Blower.

A movie canon Firehouse would be pretty cool. Giga Meter, too, but random.

In terms of props, if we assume the only scans they did was on the Afterlife set - the Ecto Goggles is logical. They could, in theory, make the vehicle part of the RTV and those with the Two in the Box! Trap can put in in there but then you're helping fund part of a toy.

Hmmm, I'd bet on Ecto Goggles.

(and yeah, I moved 3 posts from the Ectomobile thread to hear because they were off-topic there but more relevant here)

Sorry man butt I couldn't resist pointing out the typo between hear and there. Lol. If they do the RCT I see them doing the full toy tap and all. We wouldn't pay for part a drone.

If they offer the RCT as half a toy I don't see that being part of a backing campaign. The Goggles and the RCT would be a nice backing. It would be equally awesome if they figured out how to do the RTC holster like the version in Spirits Unleashed. Although it would look a tad goofy.

Yeah, since they already did the trap there wouldn't have to be a ton of research and development time.

:)

A fully functional ecto/para goggles featuring augmented reality which communicates with the pack, wand, PKE and trap using microphone pickup and or EMF signature that ties the functionality of all prior props together.

And a belt gizmo as an unlock.

The goggles getting information in is one thing, but information out is something different entirely. The only Hasbro GB toy that has any ability to accept external input is the trap, via the IR input that the PKE uses to signal it to play ghost voice sounds. "EMF signature" is not a thing, so no, the PKE would not have any input from hypothetical goggles. The wand famously has no inputs, and the pack likewise has no inputs (except for the power draw on the hose connection that it uses to sense the wand on/off state).

Microphone pickup as an input to the goggles would be an interesting idea, and you could also have an IR receiver that could sense the flashes from the PKE meter when it goes to max. But I think for the goggles having an accelerometer/magnetometer would be far more interesting (giving the goggles the ability to change the visual output based on what direction you're looking).

They could do a firehouse to go with the Ecto-1's and Plasma series line no problem. Hell id drop 500-600 for one! It could be just a more detailed upscaled replica of the Kenner Classic one with more movie accurate features to fit the plasma series scale and id get one of those no problem.

Look at all they do with the Star Wars Black Series line...how many ships and playsets have they done? A Plasma Series firehouse would be easy for them to do in comparison.

I'd love to see a Hasbro Ghostbusters Firehouse, but I think we need to stop using Star Wars merchandise as precedent.
We can use them for things like figure scale, and maybe sculpt quality, but we shouldn't be assuming that because they've made some elaborate vehicles or playsets for the Star Wars range that we'd ever see the same consideration made for things from the Ghostbusters universe... The Star Wars fandom and merchandise machine is a juggernaut when compared to ours... And brings in a lot more money for Hasbro than we ever will.

I'm a little amazed they actually decided to develop the HasLab Ecto-1/1A... And fortunately it got green-lit, but I wouldn't expect something of that size and complexity to be regular occurrance with Hasbro. It might've even been one of the last big hurrahs of the Hasbro Ghostbusters line.

I just feel we need to temper our expectations and use a smaller franchise as the basis of what could be done figure/vehicle/playset-wise, maybe something like John Carpenter's The Thing, Back to the Future, or '80s Tron.

That's valid... though I really do hope they give us one last big hurrah and pivot to RGB "props". PKE meter aside, the gear is a less complex physical design and they could just pop over the same electronics (maybe gut a couple from the trap like a few of the ghost sounds and rumble motor). The PKE meter would have to be all new engineering from the ground up, though...

Notice how they are shifting focus to the Real Ghostbusters this year? With the Mondo Figures (i pre ordered both the 2 packs of Peter and Egon) and the Funko Pops, that book coming out, i could see Hasbro doing more Retro Figure Re Releases or even doing a Haslab Real Ghostbusters set. Id like them to do all the equiptment as a package simular to how they did it with the original Proton Pack in the 80s. Think about it, we get a RGB Proton Pack, Wand, Trap, PKE Meeter, all around 500 bucks or so....be worth it to me!

My one question then is...Where the hell is the re release Firehouse Playset?

LMAO, sorry, but... that'd never happen for that price tag, not for less than the Spengler pack and thrower... I mean, maybe if they didn't have any electronics what so ever, then... maybe?

While I'd absolutely love the shit out of a Real Ghostbusters Proton Pack, even an extreme I don't think there would be much demand for one. Not saying there would never be a possibility for Hasbro to make one but a backing for the proton pack would probably be a little more than the Spengler pack.

They would have to make whole new molds for it unless were all okay with a blue recolor. I can see them doing an anniversary release of the Pack if they didn't add electronics but made it easy for us to insert plug and play electronics.

The 500 price tag would be best at minimum for the pack without electronics. I'm guessing 600 would be right on the money for a new proton pack backing.

For the gear we would probably see at least 400 if they decided to do another two in the box set up. We aren't getting RGB Ecto goggles before the afterlife version.

On their blog, on May 8, Hasbro Pulse stated, "We’ve made some price changes across our fan portfolio. Like many companies, we’re seeing higher costs across production and shipping. While we’ve worked hard to keep prices steady, these changes help us continue delivering the quality play experiences you expect from Hasbro. When you purchase from Hasbro Pulse, the price you authorized for a pre-order or a HASLAB will not change, even if prices fluctuate in the future. Your price is locked in at the time you place your order."

Ok, so it looks like on May 9, prices increased for Hasbro products at various retailers. But current pre-orders, i.e. Marvel Legends figures, were switched to unavailable on the Hasbro Pulse page.

@yourbigpalal83: I agree, I would love to see more Real Ghostbusters toys from Hasbro. I have really enjoyed a majority of the stuff released under the RGB Kenner Classics line, and it would be great to see more of it reissued. Especially some of the ghost characters that I never go around to purchasing during my childhood.

Interested to know if it'll be a continuation of the Plasma series movie figures, more Kenner Classics, or a new HasLab prop replica.

Bar the Firehouse and Ecto-2, I'm not sure what else could be revived from the Kenner line... Some "never seen before" Kenner-style figures of characters who were never released would be awesome, but I'd imagine Hasbro wouldn't be able to touch any of the ghosts that Mondo is adapting.

I would love to see the movie figures get expanded to include Frozen Empire, with a buildable Garraka... But it would seem a little late in the game for that.
I could see them doing some more Ghostbusters II figures, following the set that are going to be included with the HasLab Ecto-1A.

I don't see them myself revealing a prop without a movie or something of that size behind it. I would love some new retro figures. But my guess is the Ecto glow figures in packaging for the SDCC will be the surprise. But who knows, maybe it will be something awesome.

With the animation company behind the new series having been announced, I'm not holding my breath but a new action figure line based on the animated series in development could be a possibility.

If everyone is thinking goggles, which version of Ecto Goggles are we getting? Will it be set up like the Ecto-1 backing where we choose between a standard and deluxe version? Regular goggles, and the second being the Afterlife version with the built-in camera?
While it would be awesome to get a teaser, I really would like to see Hasbro just drop the backing instead of making us wait until October without any info other than the teaser. But yeah, I'd like to see the return of tier rewards come back.

Either way we'll have to wait around a year for the goggles so don't count them out completely. It's not going to cost Hasbro to start a backing as Ecto is being shipped out. For all we know they already have the prototype developed.

As far as we know, all the HasLab props were scanned from props on the Afterlife set. If they do make the HasLab, it's a question of budget if they can integrate the photo taking aspect of the Afterlife goggles. Or even the functionality of the built in camera. It's a good question since the Ecto Goggles are different in each movie...

I would love for them to be the Ecto goggles. The reason being 30% because I would love to have them, but 70% because I'm super interested how they will incorporate the functionality with all the prior props (like how the Haslab PKE and trap communicated a little).

Imagine the Ecto goggles having some sort of augmented reality or something that allows them to "play" with the pack and wand animation, the PKE and the trap.

I mean Matty did it more than 10 years ago (their PKE and Goggles and wand communicated), I'm sure Hasbro would blow us away more than a decade later.

Tiers I don't know. Maybe they'd pack it with a belt gizmo or have a tier unlock that includes the Afterlife polaroid unit. To be honest I'd rather they didn't do a belt gizmo (doesn't really do anything and replicas are available all over Etsy) or polaroid unit and spent all their resources in making the best Goggles with as much functionality with the prior props as possible. This could be the most realistic "play" feature of trapping a Ghost (outside of VR) that has ever existed in real life.

EDIT: Thinking a bit more, a polaroid unit would be a lot of fun at cons though, but it would take a BIG chunk of development costs away from the pure "trapping" functionality.

There’s gotta be at least 4 variants of Goggles. Each film has its own version and it wouldn’t surprise me if gb1 and 2 have more than one type even within them with subtle differences. If Hasbro did a goggles HasLabs which would they go for? You can’t even really convert one to the other particularly easily.
