From what I documented from the history in the thread and everyone's mentions of their order date (and received date for the handful that did) your was ordered sometime in 2022, and you're saying you received it?

This is the issue. You ordered in 2022 and there are at least a dozen of us who ordered before you that have not received anything. I don't know if you knew Dave before and maybe he hooks his friends up, but that is a terrible way to run a business and if he's going to do it that way then he needs to only build packs for friends and not make it a full time business. Clearly he is not cut out for it.

I ordered in September of 2021 and I have not received a single progress picture, substantial status update or any other specific info that would make me think my pack was even started as of the beginning of 2025. I also think maybe he had started it back when I was one of 15 or so orders he had (at least who are on this forum) but my assumption is that my pack was finished and given to someone else who was louder, threatening legal action, or a buddy of his. Again, terrible business ethics. But worst of all, terrible communication. I clearly waited almost 4 years with little to no communication on faith alone, and I know now that was a huge mistake. That being said, I would have happily waited longer if I got regular updates or explanation as to why things were happening, where my specific pack was in the process, or even regular social media posts that made it sound like he was even working on packs. Everyone that knows him claims he's a good guy and he's working around the clock on packs. Clearly from his social media (which I am blocked from even though I have stayed pretty quiet) he spends plenty of time outside his workshop and shuts down for weeks at a time randomly. It's hard to run a successful business when you don't actually work at it.

I have no personal vendetta or feelings toward him outside of being completely taken advantage of and swindled out of thousands of dollars. There are multiple people on this board that ordered in mid-2021 who have nothing to show for their several thousand dollar investment. Since I'm blocked on his socials, I can't even access his Con pics and vacation pics anymore to maybe see what my money paid for.

SAVE IT PAL! Nobody is buying this Dave is a good guy junk. A good guy doesn't steal almost 100k from hard working people. A good guy doesnt make up all the excuses he has to avoid the real truth. A good guy doesnt start taking down his accounts and running and hiding. I gave dave the benefit of the doubt and even spoke to him regularly. Nobody made him do anything hes done, hes done that all on his own. His little helpers and excuse makers are not welcome. Facts are facts. He took money and bailed. How long is dave and his mery little band of excuse makers gonna make him out to be the victim? Hes a scam artist. PLAIN AND SIMPLE. I called this on this very thread over two years ago. I said noone here will EVER see a pack or a refund. And BOOM thats exactly what happened. You dont need to have "skin in the game" to be a decent human being and know right from wrong. I think it is safe to say nobody has a vendetta against Proton Props or Dave. At the end of the day, we are all collectors and lovers of Ghostbusters and I believe it comes down to everyone just wanting the best for the community and the people who purchased a pack. But unfortunately, I think everyone has seen truly awful behavior over the last few years, with lots of false promises, excuses, and victim blaming.

I don't pretend to know why things fell apart with Proton Props but the fact of the matter is there are a lot of people who paid a significant amount of money and in previous posts, it was made clear that orders would continue to be taken even though the present order list was already long. Now, things are quite dark on his front, which leaves people with few viable options to recover either their packs or funds. Most are well beyond being able to open cases with their credit cards or PayPal by now.

That's great some people have had good experiences but nowadays, it seems like the majority of experiences are not so positive and there is a very clear pattern of failing to deliver, andcin a time where there is an abundance of makers and sellers for parts, that is really difficult to justify. Again, I don't know how or why things are falling apart but at the end of the day, I want people to get the things there were promised and purchased.

There is nothing to indicate to me this guy is a good person, at all. If he was backed up with orders, then he shouldn’t have been taking new ones, but he couldn’t resist the money, and because of our good faith, he thought he could just get away with it and we’d all be willing to give him 10 years before asking about what we paid for. I was suspicious when I saw he made a Frozen Empire pack to auction, thinking where did he have the time to do that when people had outstanding orders? Then offering the new bumpers for sale, I thought that shouldn’t have been his priority when he had other things he should have been working on. Capitalizing off a fad while the money was hot, was all he was doing. I wish I had found this thread before I ordered, but I sadly didn’t until I started looking up his business to see if anybody else was having similar problems. He only communicates when you’re looking to give him money, and then he’ll ghost you. That is not a good person, that’s a scam artist and a thief.

Not a SINGLE update on the site as it's back live. He simply got bailed out by his friends and is in panic mode. Which is great because our family firm will be able to pull even more information about him from the site. W3 are also filing the site with Sony legal. He's still accepting orders. Toby is real. He’s also a maker of props and bits you can find him on Etsy as Wertheimers Hardware. Toby is based in the East Midlands which is indeed about 5-6 hours drive from Plymouth depending on traffic and time of day.

I've known Toby for a bit now. He is a valuable asset to the community and has a wealth of knowledge. I respect Toby. He tried to help a friend who quite honestly put him in a horrible position. Toby did not have any financial gain from Dave's scam and infect Toby has shipped parts all over the world without issue. Toby is loyal and we should all be lucky to have a friend like him. With that said there is nothing left for Toby to defend. The problem is with Dave aka proton props and him only. That is who we will focus on. 7 of you have now reached out to join a chat away from here for legal action. I will start the chat up by Monday to give time for more people to submit information.

I’m only saying in reference to Toby, he had access or still has access to Proton Props, and has most likely seen with his own eyes people asking for refunds or for status updates, and I’d think at that point you have to either light a fire under your friend’s ass to not rip off the GB community, or maybe be honest with the buyers that he has seen no evidence of anything being worked on. He told me, himself, I’d get a status update last winter, and then never responded back to me asking for it. I’m not judging his character, but he clearly got involved with a bad guy, became an accessory in some fashion, and maybe clear the air and let us all know the harsh reality of the situation over there, if he has any information.

I ordered resin grips in Feb. They were in stock. All he had to do was throw them in a box and ship them to me. A month went by, I heard nothing. I DM'd him, nothing. I emailed, nothing. We're now approaching 3 months and there's been zero movement on my order. I had no choice but to open a dispute with my bank before the window passes or it's highly likely I won't ever get my money back. The whole situation has been stressful and unnecessarily frustrating for what's supposed to be a fun hobby.

Compare that with the way Toby runs his shop. I ordered 5 items (including a V-Hook and a flashbulb kit, both of which are custom built items), within 4 days I have a tracking number, and in under 2 weeks I've received the items all the way here in Australia. 10/10 seller, no notes, would buy from again.

I naively assumed that because I wasn't ordering a pack with a long lead time I'd be spared from the problems everyone else was having here, but I was sadly proven wrong.

To clarify for everyone: none of the sales in question occurred through this website, and this forum has never endorsed or promoted Proton Props UK or its operator. We provided this thread as a space for members to share honest feedback and experiences, but it has now shifted into accusations, legal threats, and highly charged discussion that must take place elsewhere.

As of today, Proton Props UK (also known as kernuyckdave and David R.) has been banned from the community. This action was not taken lightly. In 2024, he was given the opportunity to address concerns and communicate with customers openly here. That opportunity was not used meaningfully, and it has become clear that he is not acting in good faith.

We have been informed that there are allegedly 20 or more customers with unfulfilled orders, with the total amount of money involved reported to be over $90,000. These are serious allegations, and understandably, many members are seeking to coordinate legal action.
