Posting again at the chance that David or Tobey are reading — still waiting on an order update from the order book review last November.

So it takes a few years to get your Proton Pack from ProtonPropsUK?? I mean I understand since they probably get tons of orders and I know these take time to make. I am just curious since I just this week ordered mine from them.

You're probably 4+ years away from receiving it

Oh jeeze! I actually ordered this as a gift for my father that has cancer, and it would kill me if he passed away before I could give it to him!!

Can anyone recommend a really good proton pack builder who has a better turn around?

Oof, sorry to hear that man. No, you're not going to find a single pack builder with a quick enough turn-around. Your best bet is to find someone selling theirs already.

Copy that! Thanks so much for the advice!

Since my father is a seasoned electrical engineer, I think what I will do it buy everything we need to do the build ourselves, and make it a fun project for the both of us to share together!!

Placed order on 2/2/23. Foolishly took money out of my retirement account to pay for pack. Wish I had read this thread before placing the order. Told at the time to expect the pack in 32 weeks.

Sent an email on 9/5/23 requesting a status update. No response.

Sent an email on 9/12/23 requesting a status update. No response.

Sent a Facebook message on Nov 23, 2024 inquiring about status. The Toby-Dave (Tave? Doby? I'm convinced they're one and the same) responded almost immediately stating I could expect a status update by the end of the month. No status update ever received.

Inquired again on Facebook on Feb 1, 2025. No response.

Inquired again on Facebook on Feb 14, 2025. No response.

Inquired again on Facebook on Feb 21, 2025. Dave responded stating I could expect a status update "either over the weekend or early next week!" Never received.

Inquired again on Facebook on Mar 3, 2025. No response.

I received an update with a ETA of end of 3rd quarter 2025 for my pack ordered in September of 2021. That was on 1/22/25. Nothing since then, but I also haven’t reached back out to him. However, the Proton Props socials have been pretty quiet as has this thread, so I’m not sure if any packs have gone out in the last couple months.

As time goes on, my wife is riding me more and more about the almost $4k we’ve been out since 2021, so there’s that. She wants me to get a refund but I also feel like I’ve waiting this long and I’d hate to pull out now. It’s a tough situation, because I could definitely use the $4k now. But if I had the pack, as something to show for the $4k, I’d be fine. Three and a half years is a long time to have that much money tied up with nothing to show for it.

Anyone gotten any updates recently? I noticed his personal Instagram profile is gone and his facebook and Proton Props pages on both are pretty inactive for months.

With the economic uncertainty in the states and supply chain issues only going to get worse, it might be time to request a refund and cut losses.

No updates on my end. I got a response about a month ago saying he was in the car and would respond back to me once he got to his destination, and then never got back to me. He’s also turned off comments on his posts so nobody can publicly ask for updates either.

I ordered under the pretense that I would be getting updates and was patient to not hassle them when I wasn’t receiving any, but by this point, I just feel ripped off and disrespected. Has my pack even been started? If it hasn’t, then I just want a refund at this point. God knows if I’m even going to be alive in 3 more years to get it, or if I’m going to get it at all. Everybody, including myself, is just afraid that there’s a chance our packs might almost be done, when in reality he’s just taking orders with no guarantee he’ll ever deliver.

His personal Instagram is still active, he posts Stories a few times a month but it's been a while since I've seen anything GB related.

I ordered a set of his resin thrower grips back in Feb. I was hoping that because it wasn't actually a build it would just be something he'd throw into a box and ship out to me. This is maybe a month after he had been posting that they were now available (his website still says "New for 2025"). Also there was a Facebook photo of them from a customer who had ordered some and received them promptly.

So I took a gamble, but made sure to contact my bank about their credit card chargeback period first. They said I still have time, but not to leave it more than 6 months. So I'm patiently waiting to see if they actually arrive.

After a month of hearing nothing I DM'd the Proton Props Instagram account (I don't have Facebook) to try to find out if they were something he still had to manufacture and if there was a leadtime, and then about a week later I sent a message via the contact form on the website to ask the same thing. So far I haven't had a response, and the DM still seems to be unread. Maybe he hasn't logged into his business Instagram page for a while, and maybe his website contact form isn't working or it went to spam. So next up I'll try sending a regular email.

Failing that, I'm not really sure what else can be done apart from contacting my bank and having the charge reversed. I hope it doesn't come to that but I'm left with few options.

I think it was closed/reopened/reset (or whatever), as I got an automated “suggested for you” for his (new?) personal account. Checked my Following list and his previous account had gone. Now following his new one, same username I think, no issue.

I’ll be checking in with David via PP Insta tomorrow (I’m also not on Fb); last I heard was 7 weeks ago, apparently I was next-but-one off the line (ordered June ‘21 / very nearly 4 years ago).

Just noticed that Proton Props website is down/gone...not sure what to make of it, but thought I'd share with the group.

Noticed that too. I'm getting an "HTTP 402 Payment Required" error response from the server, so maybe he just forgot to pay his Shopify bill this month so they paused his website.

David is just doing some work on the website, so has temporarily taken it down while he's working on it.

Can we get updates on our orders?? Seems like focusing on making sure people can place more orders, without answering the ones already waiting, shouldn’t be the priority.
