Anyone who's seen/is a fan of the 90s Nickelodeon show called "Are You Afraid Of The Dark?" has more than likely seen the episode entitled "The Tale of the Dead Man's Float", as it's often regarded as one of the show's scariest episodes (and for good reason) The episode's plot goes a little something like this:

In 1994 (according to the AYAOTD wiki, that's when the episode takes place), Zeke Matthew's, a chemistry nerd, and his friend Clorice, convince their school to reopen their abandoned athletic swimming pool. Little do they know, it's abandoned for a good reason, as there's an entity lurking inside of it that will drown unsuspecting swimmers at will. When they do discover the entity, they find out from the school's janitor that it is likely the ghost of someone who was buried in the graveyard that once stood on the site of the pool. Said ghost also has an acidic-y smell for some reason, and Zeke uses that to their advantage. He pours Methyl Orange into the pool, making it visible to the naked eye. Clorice then finishes it off by pouring a jar of Maginite at the entity, causing it to be "dissolved".

That's a pretty basic run-down of the plot. Now here's a summary of the plot for my fan-film.

It's 20ish years into the future. Zeke went on to graduate from high school and college. His harrowing experience from 1994 led him to become interested in the paranormal (along with paranormal elimination). This fascination led him to join a Ghostbusters franchise in Mansfield, Ohio. His coworkers include Mike Brenner, whose personality is sort of a mix between Ray and Peter's, Don Ferguson, a laid back (and lazy) temporary receptionist, and possibly more that don't make an appearance in this.

The franchise itself isn't doing too hot during the events of the story. They haven't had an actual call in two weeks, so they're strapped for cash, and the lease payments on the franchise's building is almost due. That is, until they get one call late one night...

As for Zeke's school, it didn't have as good of a fate as him. Sometime after he graduated, the school was relocated, and the building was demolished. Sometime after that, the land was used to build a Great Wolf Lodge/Kalahari/Castaway Bay type of indoor waterpark resort. However, while the school itself may have been gone, it's old inhabitant wasn't. With such a place being built over its abode, the pool corpse had even more places to roam, and subsequently, more places to kill...

Some additional notes about my script:

*It still needs a bit of polishing, so expect some grammatical and spelling errors. Also, certain elements of it are subject to change. If there's anything I should change, feel free to let me know.

*If there is an actual Ghostbusters Franchise located in Mansfield, and if I somehow actually got this to be made, I'd want to work with them on it.

*Again, if this were to be made, I'd want Kaj-Erik Erikson to reprise his role as Zeke Matthews (however likely that'd be)

*I chose the franchise's Ectomobile to be a 2015 Chevy Express Utility Van because I wanted to make the franchise a bit more akin to an actual pest control company. Rest assured, it's still very much decked out with all the fittings of a nuclear Cadillac, I even gave it a gunner-seat and Super Slammer in my "concept art" of it (though these don't play a part in the plot). I'll post that, and my other "concept art", later.

*The Clorice in this story *probably* isn't the same as the one from the original AYAOTD episode. I think I just named her that as a callback to it.

*I myself am not a huge Are You Afraid of the Dark fan, but I have seen a few episodes of it, including the namesake one that this is based off of. Though, I have somewhat of a soft-spot for horror media, which probably stems from my love of this franchise  It's a decent show from what I've seen and heard, and I hope I did it (and the Ghostbusters franchise) justice!

*The images at the bottom were mainly for my creative writing teacher, and any other people who may not be as well affiliated with Ghostbusters as I am, however it still could be helpful in visualizing certain details, such as their car.

I really hope you guys enjoy this as much as I did making it. I've been doing what I can for the past few months to tweak and polish it. Again, please be sure to suggest changes as needed :]
