A few of us have been talking fan run servers once support dies off for the game completely and part of that is making some of the ghosts more unique. This isn't far from what we've come up with.

Another thing we've been talking about is setting up "Boss" bounties. So, this would be taking the iconic ghosts of each class and giving them all the unique abilities of every ghost of that class (like how Samhain works in his bounty), though the Scoleri Bros kinda threw a wrench in the works for them.

It would be cool in theory if you could give Boogieman an exploit that matches him using doors as portals in the cartoon. In-game, he can create doors and just go through the map like some of the early map glitches when the game came out and pop back into the game whenever. But then there'd have to be some kind of safeguard added so Boogie doesn't camp and let the clock run out - i.e. Busters use their P.K.E. Meter to track where he made a door, blast it to force him out back onto the map.

That'd be REALLY hard to implement without it being game breaking. You'd have to go into every map and program certain doors to work as his personal portals that would spit him out somewhere specific on the map. This is why I'm glad we didn't get Gozer. How the hell do you like that up with existing abilities without it feeling too nerfed? It's also why I think Boogey will be a howler variant... or MAYBE, just maybe, since he'll be the final addition to the game, they'll do something special and unique with him (wishful thinking, I doubt they'll go this route)

Ha ha, that's why I said "cool in theory" and not "easy to program", ;)

He did do that super scream in the first RGB appearance. But also strong enough to chuck things at the RGB. And kinda nimble. Able to portal around at will if there's a door. Transmogrify an environment. There' a lot of choices. He could get a physical attack like Hellion's Charging Chaos. Or Shriek's Scream Wave along with the Sonic Pulse. Or Squidler's Hurl Object. Or the ghoul's Fear Inferno. The SU team has a lot of choices with Boogie's 2 abilities.

Bison256 wrote:Considering spirits unleashed doesn't have opening doors, the only doors the boogieman could use as portals are the decorative closed ones with in the maps.
Further explaining my crazy idea, he would stand in front of the closed doors in the maps, you use his unique ability, he can open a vortex in front of a closed door or an entryway, hops in, another vortex spits him out in a random part of the map, sometimes even map breaking like the early map glitches - but mostly in another part of the map. He can keep x number of vortices open or until his energy is drained and can in theory flood the map with vortices and Drudges, too. And then use his Ultimate ability, like one of the scream abilities the other ghosts have but linked to fear level, the more civilians or Busters he scares the more he can recover his PK energy and keep the vortices open. Perhaps sacrilege, but I'd give him a third ability - either Charging Chaos or Hurl Objects.

I've been known to bitch here about the button tapping mini games, I finally realized why I have trouble with them while other high level player constantly get out of tethers and traps; I use a keyboard and mouse normally. So I decided to try the xbox controller I keep around for older games. I got out of three traps in one round while playing online. Turns out the game was made with consoles/controllers as the default platform, I really shouldn't be surprised.

If you're still having issues, there's also the button mash assist in the accessibility controls as well.

I found that when I remapped the minigame keys to WASD I could beat the minigames MUCH more easily.

You don't have a wireless x-box controller? They aren't that expensive these days. plus they offer insurance now in case your controller sticks begin to drift.

That royally sucks. There's been too many studios shutting down, downsizing or being restructured over the past decade. Hopefully they're able to avoid Terminal Reality's fate.

Thats cool. I assume these are the sweaters we were supposed to get this time last year, but some issues meant we only got one. I am glad we can get them now.

mrmichaelt wrote: December 23rd, 2024, 1:56 am Oh yeah, I guess by process of elimination, the winter update with Boogieman is coming out on the 26th...
I mean, it's called the "Winter" update. Illfonic, being a company in the US, technically could wait until March 20th. The Garraka update didn't happen until January (I think) of this year. Plus with the company layoffs and the office being closed until January 2nd (or was it the 6th?), I wouldn't expect the update until sometime in January at the absolute earliest

Good points. Looking at the past updates, they've been spaced out every 3 to 4 months this year. January seems more likely than this week.
