Now I may be missing sound and I will make the interior more accurate soon, but far as I have seen on here mine is the only movie accurate light sequence, Salt Lake Ghostbusters is super close but when you click the red button and then the yellow the red button light should go off but theirs stays on.

Here’s is my Ecto Containment Unit. I used Southland, and Salt lake Ghostbusters ECU’s as examples. Mine is made almost completely of FOAM!!! That’s right construction foam, you can see in the pics how it went. I made it functional by reinforcing with dowel rods, and styrene plastic for areas where hardware was used.

This panel of styrene was added so the handle had something strong on the outside to allow the handle to be fastened to, then I used wood filler and painted it to hide it some.

My build list:
-1 inch Construction foam 2- 4x8 sheets, one cut in half to fit in the truck and the other 1/4 was cut off, if you cut it in half you can’t make the large back section it won’t be big enough.
-Clear Gorilla Glue (this is non expanding)
-Dowel rod pieces
-Masonite board (peg board with no holes)
-wood filler to hide seams
-Jack chain to hold the door/large hinge attached to wood panel glued down and dowels glued through and down into the foam
-cosplay type of foam to cover bend at the bottom.
-half circles (pearl color) used as rivets from the jewelry section at hobby lobby pictured above.
-Handle on the door 3D printed from Thingiverse, there’s a lot of other parts that has .STL files that can be requested from a member of SaltLakeGB’s through their ECU post.

-The handle that activates the green light is made of square and round dowel screwed together

Etsy-FannStar- for ECU stickers

Electronics… my husband custom built from scratch, NO Arduino Unit, there’s no formal diagram for it yet.

I used the same rubber strip gasketing that Saltlake GB used in their GB fan forums post to surround the back of the trap holder.

Here is my ECU’s new digs till the next event.

First off awesome work!!! second of all where did you find the blueprints? I have a theater room and I'm getting ready to build a containment unit. I have other Ghostbusters props ,Back to the Future, 89 Batman, Marvel, Gremlins and of course Star Wars. This will definitely complete my theater. Any help would be awesome.
