Hi,
The title says it all. I’m sitting here getting ready to chop into my life sized spirit pack to correct some glaring errors(cyclotron, booster tube, etc), and now I’m wondering if I should just fire up the Ender 3 and print and prep a Q Pack over the next 2 weeks or so. I’ve got several hundred dollars worth of electronic and aesthetic upgrades in the mail, so either way it’s gonna be a great pack. Thoughts?

I did a q pack a couple years ago. I love how it turned out.

Maybe you're a different type of person than I am, and maybe the 3d printer gods smile on you in a way in which they shunned me, but even running 24/7 I think it would still take about 2 weeks to print ALL the parts, and that's if nothing fails.

But if you do mange to get one done in 2 weeks, I owe you a beer.

Having just finished up two life-size Spirit packs, if I had to do it again, I would have invested in a good 3D printer and printed the Q pack. I had no idea how time consuming and expensive the Spirit packs would get, and I did not upgrade the HGA or Booster tube and only did a cyclotron cover, not cyclotron/bumper replacement.

That said, I absolutely love how my Spirit packs turned out.

I cant say much about other packs. I've been printing my Q pack on and off over the past two years on my Dreamer when I have time. I'm happy with the results and it looks good. Haven't had any real issues with fitting parts together. Was printing in ABS just to learn that process but now I'm just doing PLA.

What's the rush is the question. If you ask the question to print the Q pack or just upgrade what you have then you clearly are not happy with what you have.

I've had this same debate with myself over the past couple of years. I would go Q Pack. Ultimately, the bumper/cyclotron will never look right on the Spirit and IMO if you start cutting away and replacing parts of the Spirit shell, you might as well just print a pack and have it look right and be something you made yourself. That's my take.
