That after all is said and done, Emily emphasized it is still a toy and not the real deal so don't roughly stomp the pedal. Zack tapped it gently with his hand in the video.

But I think the message is be gentle with the pedal. Sorta like when Gary presses the pedal in Afterlife. But don't stomp it like when Ray does it in GB1 when Slimer is trapped.
Got it thank you!

Why? What's wrong with them exactly?

timeware wrote: June 14th, 2024, 10:39 am Sorry if this has been covered but my issue with the trap peddle would be if there's any electronics in it. I would hate to spend all this money on the backing to find certain functions of the trap won't work without the peddle.
The only electronics in the pedal are the indicator LED and the switch. That's why making a replacement pedal will be trivial should it come to that.
Turtuv wrote: June 14th, 2024, 11:49 am Why? What's wrong with them exactly?
The sequence they showed was totally wrong if they were going for the Sedgewick scene. It's backwards. The first press of the pedal opens the trap, the second press emits the capture field, pulls the ghost in, then slams the trap shut. One of the users on the HasLab Ghostbusters Modders group on FB put together a comparison video:

https://files.catbox.moe/yy6nzk.mp4

Plus the bargraph beep sound is completely and utterly wrong. It's both not the correct type of beep, and the beep in the film decreases in pitch whereas the HasLab demo increases.

I accept that these are prototypes and that the electronics are obviously not final. We have several months until release, so for all I know they're gonna figure this out themselves and fix it before the final production run.

But considering all the existing Plasma Series releases, I'm also not going to hold my breath. It just doesn't bother me that much because it means I get to tinker with some more electronics.

About the sequence i say that this props are based on afterlife and frozen empire, so i don't take the original movies as reference. but that said, they could definitely change those things, the important thing is to report this to their attention but i don't know how. Emily deleted the reddit account, so i hope that someone in here which has contact with someone at hasbro can report this things so that we have a product with more effects

Well, for what they have already shown, the haslab is already a much improved version. they didn't show all the effects anyway and it's still in development, so all could be possible.

Good, needs work.

Interesting how they didn't specify what batteries... We'll find out. Happy they put the batts in the cartridge as opposed to the frame, but I'm worried the connector might die over time.
mrmichaelt wrote: June 13th, 2024, 11:26 pm -It is advised to not stomp the Trap pedal.
aaaaand there it is. New pedals are gonna be selling quite a bit later this year, I'm guessing.
mrmichaelt wrote: June 13th, 2024, 11:26 pm -Sound effects are from Ghost Corps and Sony from the movies and anything else was vetted and approved by them.
The trap sounds are familiar... They're exactly the same as the tiny trap toy we got from Running Press. Not impressed.
mrmichaelt wrote: June 13th, 2024, 11:26 pm -Trap's spirit selector is demonstrated, has 6 set sounds and 1 setting for random, and different sounds based on which ion rods are attached.
You BETTER be able to turn the stupid sounds off. That's a feature little kids might like, I might have it on for the little kids at cons to laugh at, but man, the whole idea is god awful. They're going hard for the kid features. And these were 300 bucks, no kid ordered these. I'm okay with it being there, as long as it has an option to turn OFF the stupid little sounds.
mrmichaelt wrote: June 13th, 2024, 11:26 pm -Trap's bar graph and the LED light near it have been changed to match the movie version.
This? Actually beneficial. Super happy they made the fix.
mrmichaelt wrote: June 13th, 2024, 11:26 pm -P.K.E. Meter has three different animations (two for P.K.E. Meter and one for taser mode) each with five different speeds based on volume and wing position.
I gotta say, I'm a fan of the PKE from what they've shown us. Excited for that one.
mrmichaelt wrote: June 13th, 2024, 11:26 pm -Both turn off after five minutes of inactivity. Pressing any button will awaken them from sleep.
Expected this one. But it's a trap/pke, you're gonna have the PKE being controlled with button presses, so it won't turn off during use. Trap'll only be on during your trap sequence, so we probably won't need a keepalive kit.
mrmichaelt wrote: June 13th, 2024, 11:26 pm -Wings on the P.K.E. Meter made with durability in mind for repeatedly changing between modes.

Good! Hyped for the PKE. Durability and the sequences seem good!

Not a fan. BT tags would have been better, but we can only dream that someone will mod it.

I was going by ear not so I could have misheard but in any case back in November they had said the P.K.E. uses AA batteries.

I think in one of the videos from GBDay at Hook and Ladder 8, they stated the trap would take 4 AA batteries and 3 AA batteries for the PKE.

I bumped into Sean Charlesworth (Countspatula) at Open Sauce this weekend, he was around when Adam Savage did his initial preview video of the prototypes and also got to test them early on. Sean mentioned he did contribute some feedback to Hasbro. I don't know if it was related to functionality or just design/accuracy, but knowing Sean and his experience with ghost traps I feel like that's as good as any of us giving feedback early on. It's a very good sign.

(Best case scenario he told them about features they should be implementing and they took his advice on board, I hope!)

Turtuv wrote: June 19th, 2024, 1:20 am Are the differences in favour of the haslab?
Definitely. The Matty trap is very nice in many respects, but also not very accurate.
this is great, i hope that hasbro went way beyond with the trap and pke and that they made a very better and more complete product than the matty collector (which was the reference point until now), as they did with the pack.

I'm trying to not over think it and going with they weren't mentioned because A) they weren't brought up B) weren't wired or functional in time for the video.

I did submit a question about it on the reddit page, but I agree - it was likely not showcased because they don't yet have it functional.

"Late fall". So they're targeting November (as confirmed on GB Day). Yes the pack was delivered early, but so far I don't think we've had any indication that they're on track to release the Two in the Box early as well. None of us work for Hasbro so any predictions made have zero value anyway.

With afterlife being delayed, it seemed like they were further along with the pack.

On top of the pke and trap being more intricate. The pack is simpler, no small moving parts. I can see two in the box getting delayed.

However haslabs seem like they've been early. If Halloween was their goal, they'd never admit it. Better off being the hero and getting everyone their traps early, then risk committing to October and pissing everyone off when you cant deliver

This is awesome! I've read a comment under the video tho, which says: "The light bar graph on the top of the trap looks wrong ️ It should go from left to right, then yellow light blink…"

Can someone expert go further into this? Is this user right?

Yes that user is right, if they're replicating the 84 style bargraph. I believe it behaves the same in Afterlife (except sometimes it goes left to right, then back again, then loops, such as when Egon has the trap at the start of the film). But I've never seen it go from right to left like they're showing.
Image

Edit: The yellow light turns on, but I don't believe it's ever blinked. It's basically just another segment on the bargraph.
Edit #2: Video of the hero prop here, showing how the bargraph moves:

So, i've watched the video again and the guys show that there is a knob that change the direction of movement of the bargraph, forward and backward. Plus, in the video there are parts there the led is still and not blinking, so i think that it depends on the modes you are using. The trap seems to be really packed with a lot of functionality, lights, sounds and so on. This is gonna be the best trap on the market ever, i'm so excited!
