So now it’s scheduled to air on Freeform next Sunday the 7th with a runtime of 3 hours. Again mayyyybe they’ll show some deleted stuff. It’s a much longer runtime than the FX airing.

I don’t know for sure because I haven’t checked but I’ve watched some Disney movies on there and I think they’ve included some deleted things. Still the channel is known for having a lot of commercials so it wouldn’t surprise me there’s nothing new.

That's a lot of commercials.... an hour's worth? :sigh:

Ya I usually just DVR anything I want to see on there. They don’t cut out anything. Not on Disney movies anyway. It’s a Disney owned channel.

Storyboard artist Phil Langone recently posted four animated storyboards to his Youtube channel. They reveal a few new bits such as:

- More Mini Puft mayhem

- The role of the Wal Mart security guard

- The name for Gozer's land of the dead was 'Kurnugia'

- Podcast filling a pudding cup with ectoplasm

- According to Langone, Seth Rogen was considered for the role of Gary Grooberson at the time of the storyboards

There is a concept art of Gary in a refrigerated aisle. Now it makes sense, for a time he was going to be chased through the aisle first. Mini-Pufts eating a TV dinner would have been funny. Very cool to find out some the deleted material that's been barely talked about, like the Walmart security guard and Podcast putting ectoplasm in a pudding cup.

They sure cut a lot of Podcast's lines. Ah, Kurnugia outright mentioned. This line was basically used earlier in the movie Podcast is looking at Tobin's Spirit Guide in her bedroom but reworked a bit. Kurnugia in myth is the Mesopotamian underworld. Always felt that passage cemented Gozer is a stand-in for Ereshkigal. A lot of connecting the dots when the kids explore the mine.

"You think he's coming back?" cracked me up. Wish that stayed in.

I love BTS dumps of info like this. Especially for Afterlife, where the cut material seems to be more scarce. I hope one day we get all the scenes documented.

I liked Podcast's Clint Eastwood line. But it probably would have been a bit too much while Phoebe was having her revelation about Egon. "Bummer" was still a nice moment for him. Do you think putting the slime into the pudding cup is what led to him having a scene later where he eats it? Maybe he forgot what he had in there.

Yeah, feels like most of Podcast's cut lines were cut because they were stepping on other lines and/or once they saw the cut, they realized they needed to dial back the amount of quips.

Yeah, I think so. Maybe there was a longer scene when they leave the mine and back home. Podcast is talking and talking because he's so excited by what happened, notes he's hungry, gets the pudding, forgets it's ectoplasm and bleh. It could even by why possessed Callie is smelling him up, not just because he was a male, lol.

Oh man. That scene made me cringe. Same with Grooberson telling a mom that her 12 year old might take up pole dancing. Just felt ill-conceived, given the younger cast. That aside, I genuinely love the character interactions in this film. I know many felt Afterlife wasn't funny, but for me, it had maybe the best banter since the original.
