Which of the two current direct sequels to the first film you feel is better? A lot seem to rate Afterlife as better than GB2, but I feel GB2 is easily far superior and it's not even a contest. Afterlife wasn't bad but felt like a missed opportunity in a lot of ways and in hindsight felt more like a nostalgiafest for the first film than anything. GB2 is far more organic-feeling and to me you just can't beat the original four together. It's even more special in hindsight as it was the final time Harold would ever be Egon in live-action.

Afterlife certainly is far from being bad but GB2 is easily the superior sequel, IMHO. I'm far more attached to it granted, but it still feels like a far more organic sequel and feels like it builds upon the lore rather than just being a big nostalgic throwback to the first film.
