Following Adam Savage's video about how he made his, i went about sculpting my own from sculpey and setup my mold the same way he did his.
Once i had a casting I drilled out the eyes and top and bottom as the original was. Unfortunately this doesnt result in an actual death whistle sound. To do that i would need to try rotocasting and inserting a small hollow ball with a hole in it somehow. Regardless, i was more concerned with accuracy than functionality.
I then followed the same painting steps Adam detailed in his video, using the same oil and acrylic washes.
This was a super fun project and Im very happy with the end result. I'll probably still experiment with ways to get it to actually whistle.
