Egon Spengler is seen reading from a red book at Ray’s Occult in Ghostbusters II where he states “this one’s interesting Ray, Berlin 1939…”
I have a copy of this actual book, but it is not easy to come by affordably and even harder to find in the bright red version seen on screen. The one I have is a darker oxblood color that is not exact to the book seen on screen… it looks very nice and red under bright light.
I’ve had to stay off my ankle the last few days and have had time to doodle, and ended up replicating the artwork from the front cover, it is still in draft form and a work in progress.
It would not be outside the realm of possibility to create a replica of this book. The text of the book itself is quite dry and uninteresting, and does not include the Berlin 1939 anecdote - so, it could be possible to insert a more interesting text into the cover.
I would also consider making a reduced version around 6x9 that would not take up so much space, similar to the Magical Paths replica - which would also make it much more affordable. I would welcome any thoughts, suggestions, or input to see if it would be worthwhile to move such a project forward.
