It was announced on Tuesday that veteran actor and vocal artist Peter Renaday has passed away.

Best known for portraying Master Splinter in Fred Wolf Films' Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Renaday also played the memorable role of miser Ebenezer Scrooge in the 1986 The Real Ghostbusters episode, "X-Mas marks the Spot".

Renaday is also well known for providing the voices of Vernon Fenwick in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Mandrake the Magician in Defenders of the Earth, the Autobot Grapple in Transformers and Adam Fenix in Gears of War 3.

RIP to an amazing talent in the voice over world. Along with The Real Ghostbusters, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was one of my favorite cartoons growing up. It's funny, but until I became an adult, I never would have guessed that like a number of voice over artists Peter Renaday worked on many cartoons that I enjoyed as a child. His work as Master Splinter is one of the many reasons I still enjoy the 1987 TMNT cartoon to this day.
