I agree, Vin.

I got to see that in person a few months ago. A friend was working on a porn shoot there (behind the scenes, not...you know...) When I picked her up one day she offhandedly remarked that someone mentioned the set was in Ghostbusters (She wasn't very familiar with the film).
Me: Wait...you mean that's THE firehouse from Ghostbusters?
Her: I guess. Was there a scene in the movie with a firehouse?
Me: Uh, yea, kinda!

You know, the white-tiled room where the guys eat, play arcade games, have their lab, etc.dKiD Clue wrote:where was the scene shot where ray and egon are stuck in the photo black roomI'd concluded it to be a set as well. It (and the adjoining Lab) feature window, tile and colour scheme designs based on the Second Floor Crew Quarters, but a layout that isn't present.
Plus, it seems pretty big for a room that appears to be a converted bathroom.

If I understand what you mean by "the first one on the left", that particular one was accessed via the Crew Quarters, and was the one nearest the arcade machines. The firepole near the Fireplace in the Crew Den is the one that descended near the Alarm Box, where the bell would be found.
As for the Dark Room window, Paul meant that the window pane frames are the exact same colour as the outer frame, whereas they would be white if they'd used the real Crew Quarters... doubtful the wood would be the same colour because of some sort of Dark Room cover being put on them... I also doubt the production would go to that effort.

The Chief's quarters is the 3rd floor, the Captain's quarters is on the second floor which you can see at 2:46 in part 3. The pole that is in the crew member's den (or lounge as I said my previous post, which is at 4:00 in part 3) isn't close to the alarm. You can see the hole for the pole at 3:21 in part 2 of the videos. The pole that's next to the arcade machines is the one next to the alarm box. As for the the pole next to the doors, since there were two doors to the common area as you can at 6:18 in part 3, one could be kept closed for safety purposes as that's the captain's pole.
And, lastly, for now, the video that prompted me t[…]
