Ecto Tech did get a 1960 M&M hearse recently.... and he is building up quite a bit of good rep. He already got it converted with the windows. Just a thought but maybe they hired him out to make it? Those 59' halves were pretty far from FL to specifically buy them.

That seems unlikely given that he's trying to finish ECTO-1A NJ before Ghostbusters Day, seems like he's already at capacity. Universal probably wouldn't want to wait 6 months to get started on this, but it's plausible that they'd reach out to him for advice or buy some spare parts off of him (anything which he isn't going to use on one of his 3 cars, or he hasn't reserved for the hero car at Sony when he eventually convinces them to let him fix that poor car).

Well, it is the 40th anniversary of the franchise, and I honestly did enjoy the GB house back in 2019. (Universal is only a 3 hour drive from where I live)
It would be great if Universal Orlando renewed their Ghostbusters license in some capacity for the near, foreseeable future.
I'd be happy if they had an updated special effects show or even opened up a shooter type ride, similar to Men in Black w/mini Ecto 1's.

So, I do know it's a 1961 S&S Combo Car, and yes that 1/2 caddy bought is most likely going on it. It was also Mechanically restored up in the North East USA. It's an Afterlife styled Ecto with hand painted GB logos on the side. It looks very nice, and it was fixed by someone who knows what he's doing.

The royalty free Blockbuster is really cool (as the last generation who experienced rental stores, I've got some fond memories of them), but I was really hoping it would be like the Tribute Theater from a few years back that recreated locations. Imagine a Rays Occult section or something, or what they did for Horror Nights...but again, still super cool. Hopefully the parade float is also cool.

If you look it up on Google StreetView you can scroll back through the old photos, looks like it may have closed between 2012-2013 (assuming the convenience store was the same "deli").

I’ve seen people say they should feature GB in the Macy’s Thanksgiving parade. I totally agree. Imagine a giant Stay Puft balloon. You could have Mini Puft mascots dancing on the streets with Ecto-1 leading the way. Maybe a FE/ice float to go along with winter...but without Garraka of course since he’s pretty scary looking haha.

Yeah, 33 St. Mark's Place and the places around it have changed hands a many times over the decades. For time it was a noodle shop, too. Then the craft beer joint or something and a burger place but the latter is gone.

Guests may wear costumes to Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal CityWalk Hollywood (“Universal”) on 2024 Halloween Horror Nights event dates subject to Universal’s Code of Conduct and to the following costume guidelines:

Guests must be fully clothed, including shoes and shirts.
Guests may not wear clothing or accessories (e.g. uniforms, costumes or props) that may create a false impression that guests work for Universal or as emergency personnel, including, without limitation clothing or items identified with law enforcement, security, firefighters, emergency responders or the military.
Except as required by Universal or for religious or medical reasons, guests may not wear any covering that fully or partially obscures a person’s face, including costume masks, facial coverings, and face applications. Face painting is permitted only if it covers no more than one-half of the face (applied vertically only) or is applied in a pre-approved design by professional artists at Universal. Guests may be requested to modify their make-up or remove any type of facial covering to meet the above standards.
No prosthetic makeup (including makeup that conceals part of the face, like the eyes, nose, or mouth) is permitted.
Clothing that Universal determines is indecent, exposes excessive portions of the skin, or that Universal views as inappropriate for a family environment (including, without limitation, gory or gruesome clothing or accessories) is prohibited.
Service animals may not wear or be part of a costume.
No weapons of any kind are permitted. Any item that resembles a weapon or is manufactured in the shape of a weapon is not permitted. Any items that could be used as a weapon are not permitted, including, but not limited to: firearms, explosives, fireworks, chemical dispensing devices, clubs, sticks, knives, swords or other object(s) that may be used in any way to inflict bodily injury on another person.

I think you've misinterpeted the language they've used:

Guests may not wear clothing or accessories (e.g. uniforms, costumes or props) that may create a false impression that guests work for Universal or as emergency personnel, including, without limitation clothing or items identified with law enforcement, security, firefighters, emergency responders or the military.

They're saying you can't dress up as a policeman, firefighter, military personnel, or Universal Studios employee (you can't cosplay as a zombie Universal tour guide, for example). You probably can't wear a Top Gun flightsuit or combat gear e because that's semi-realistic military attire, but a Ghostbusters flightsuit is most likely going to be fine. And it reads like that also applies to the props (you can carry a ghost trap, but you can't carry a gun). As long as it doesn't "create a false impression" you should be OK.

If you're really worried about it, call them and ask just to be on the safe side.

I'm 99% sure the person who said "thankyou for your service" while I was wearing my GB flightsuit in the NYC subway on Ghostbusters Day was joking and didn't think I was actually in the military

Edit: It's true it does say "clothing or items identified with...the military", and I suppose a flightsuit is technically military clothing. But it's pretty hard to misinterpret the patches as being actual military. Maybe I'm wrong. I don't know, I'm not American or in the military

I'll probobly try to try to come up with an outfit similar to what the Haslab people wear and just carry my PKE meter and trap. I'd imagine they wouldn't give a shit about a flight suit jacket and jeans. Lol.

There's no guarantee there will be one next year.
This is only the second Ghostbusters-themed attraction they've had at Halloween Horror Nights since the first walk-through attraction in 2019. The first one was possibly originally planned to coincide roughly with the release of Afterlife, before the film was postponed to 2021.
This new event is intented to coincide with Frozen Empire, so they may only feature Ghostbusters entries for Halloween Horror Nights when a new film has been out at the cinemas.

They may continue to feature the parade float, and the merchandise in the themed store, but you should be prepared for the chance they may not have any kind of Ghostbusters-themed attraction in 2025.

There are rumblings about some kind of permanent Ghostbusters attraction at Universal (see the Parkstop video from higher up in this thread), but that's likely not for a few years after Epic opens. HHN likely won't feature GB for a while unless they go back and do Afterlife or something (unlikely), do another house based on the original (there is precedence for this), or decide to do something original with the IP (as much as I'd love a When Halloween Was Forever maze with a freaky Samhain, that's likely never going to happen). The shows and parade should stick around for a bit though, so there's that.

I'd have no issues with Ghostbusters taking over secret life of pets. They had just closed down the Walking Dead when I got to go to Universal. Walking Dead actually looked pretty fun. Converting that whole thing to a Ghost shooting gallery similar to the Spider-Man ride on Avengers Campus would be an awesome idea. Imagine sitting in an Ect0 1 themed moving seat wearing a compact thrower. The merch alone would be worth the trip.

I'm surprised they have zero plans of promoting Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice through Halloween Horror nights. Maybe Universal is waiting to see how well it does. I'd imagine if it makes bank Empire returning to Horror Nights alongside Beetlejuice next year wouldn't be that far fetched of an idea.
