So I just watched the original Ghostbusters again yesterday, great time, and I saw something I didn’t remember. Janine used to be all over Egon. But in the second movie she gets with Louis. Was there ever any explanation to this? What happened?

The change in Janine's romantic interests seems to stem from Harold Ramis during the production of Ghostbusters II. I recall him apparently remarking he didn't understand the relationship, which was why it was changed when the second film's script was being written.
