So, like some I have begun the adventure of modding the HasLab Trap.

First mod was the cable. Added some split loom and red electrical tape.

Second mod was to apply some yellow electrical tape to the doors and some weathering of the tape as well as the screen mesh.

Third mod was replace the red lamp.

I did have to open it up, pulled out the original red lens. Then I took a straw, that I lined with bare metal foil and then cut it to the right length, placing it over the LED. Put everything back together and a bit of hot glue to make the lenses stick.

There is a bit of light leakage at the bottom, because the silver ring on the OG is molded into the trap, but it's not that bad

Is it possible to just Dremel off red plastic lens/tube and plop on the new one without having to open in it up?

I don't see a reason why not. I was just going for a reversible approach.
If you want, you could stand down the silver trim ring on the trap it self so the knew light sits tighter to the plate.

literally why would you do this? this is guaranteed more destructive than just opening the damn thing up. If you’re too scared to open up the trap, but okay with cutting the shit out of it with a dremel, you can live with the stock lens.
