You are thinking of the most commonly asked about Real Ghostbusters episode, Citizen Ghost , describing the events after the first movie explaining how Slimer saved the guys lives and came to live with them. Peter forgets to burn the old uniforms leaving them next to a crack in the containment unit. Green ghost clones of the Ghostbusters appear with one goal, to destroy the Real Ghostbusters and replace them! |

| A. That is the episode entitled Take Two, another tie in with the film universe. The guys go to Hollywood to oversee the making of the Ghostbusters movie. They get there to find a ghost is haunting the studio. Worse yet, it's a sleeping ghost that gets mad at noise! |

| A. In the Real Ghostbusters Winston's name is spelt differently from the movies. It is Winston Zeddmore, when in the movies the last name is spelt Zeddemore. It is unsure why this difference was made, if it was an error or what. |

[Revise]Q. Why did the voice actors change?
A. Janine was changed because RGB's massive success, despite not following the formulas of the time, made ABC jittery. They hired a bunch of "experts" who told them that Janine was too abraisive, rude, unlikeable, ect. and demanded that she be toned down into the same sort of bland Mommy Figure prevalent on Saturday Morning cartoons at the time:

The changes to Janine only applied to the ABC episodes, so in all other licensing (ie the action figures, the Now comic book) her original appearance and attitude remained intact. When the changes failed, the producers asked Stracynski to return to the program; he was too busy to do so, but did contribute a few more scripts, most notably "Janine, You've Changed", which explained the changes in-continuity as the work of a "Makeoverus Lotsabucks" posing as her "Fairy Godmother"
Venkman's voice was changed, according to movie and Real Ghostbusters producer Michael C. Gross, because Bill Murray complained that the cartoon voice (Lorenzo Music) didn't sound enough like him (even though Real Ghostbuster Peter Venkman didn't look like him at all)

Presumably, Venkman's attitude toward Slimer was changed by the same "experts" that ordered Janine's mental lobotomy... unlike Janine, the changes to Venkman were never noted or addressed within the continuity of the show itself.
Arsenio Hall resigned as Winston's voice after the 1987-1988 season, because he was in the process of starting a talk show that began in fall 1988 and ran for several years. Most fans consider his replacement, Buster Jones, as by far the least noticeable and unpleasant change. |

[Revise]Q. Why is Stay Puft even in the cartoon?
| A. That was never explained in the cartoon. One possibility is that after the ecto marshmallow was cleaned up, it was stored in the Ecto Containment Unit and recongealed in the same form it last had. But since Gozer's intelligence had been shifted back to it's own dimension, Stay Puft was mindless and then developed a simple, childlike personality. The "real" reason is like Slimer, he was very popular with kids from the movie so it was only natural to bring him in in some way to capitalize on his popularity. |
